THE LIVE COHORT RUNS 30 SEPTEMBER 2026 - 13 JANUARY 2027
WHY A METHODOLOGY MATTERS
Insight is not the same as transformation.
Recognising that a client’s financial behaviour has deeper roots is one thing.
Knowing what to do next in the conversation is another.
A client might say, “I know I need to charge more, but I just can’t.” You may recognise the fear, belief or pattern underneath it, but where do you go from there?
Do you explore where it came from? Stay with the emotion? Help them regulate? Move towards action?
Without a clear process, even experienced professionals can find themselves relying on instinct.
That’s why the Financial Coach Programme teaches the Money Narratives Clearing® Framework — a structured six-step methodology for knowing what to explore when a money conversation goes beneath the surface.
You learn how to explore:
Where it came from
The experiences, messages and conditioning that may have shaped the client’s beliefs about money.
What sits underneath it
The emotion, need or nervous-system response influencing what feels possible or safe.
What the pattern may be protecting
Why a behaviour that looks unhelpful may actually be serving an emotional purpose.
WHAT IT IS COSTING THEM NOW
How an old belief or protective behaviour may be affecting their current choices, opportunities or financial wellbeing.
WHAT COULD BECOME POSSIBLE INSTEAD
How to help the client explore a different belief, response or behaviour without forcing change before they’re ready.
HOW INSIGHT BECOMES ACTION
Turning what emerges in the conversation into practical next steps the client can actually take.
The result is not a script you rigidly follow.
It’s a framework that helps you understand where you are in the conversation, what you’re listening for and where you might go next.
So instead of simply noticing the pattern, you have a structured way to help your client work through it.
Insight can help someone recognise a pattern. A skilled coaching process helps them move through it.
Is this programme for you?
The Financial Coach Programme is designed for professionals who already support people with change, money or financial decisions and want a more structured way to work with the human side of those conversations.
This may not be right for you if:
- you want a purely passive course with no personal reflection;
- you are looking for regulated financial-advice training;
- you do not want to explore your own relationship with money;
- you are looking for a coaching framework that is not specific to coaching on money
You do not need to have your own relationship with money perfectly “sorted.” Your lived experience can deepen your empathy and awareness. What matters is your willingness to examine your own patterns so they do not unconsciously shape the way you coach someone else.
"I approached Catherine about the financial coaching course because I wanted to improve my questioning and listening skills in client meetings.
The most valuable lesson for me has been about asking good questions, and holding the space for the full answer.
I think this will give my financial planning a much deeper resonance with my clients. I hope it will help them improve their relationship with money, and see more value is the plan and their part in it."
Benjamin Fabi - paraplanner
The Transformation
What changes through the programme?
This programme is designed to create change on two connected levels: how you understand yourself around money, and how confidently you support others.
Personally
You experience the methodology before you use it with someone else.
You’ll explore your own relationship with money and begin to recognise the beliefs, emotional responses and patterns that may be influencing the way you earn, spend, hold, receive or think about money.
This isn’t about having your own money story perfectly “sorted.”
It’s about developing the self-awareness to recognise your own assumptions, triggers and blind spots — so they’re less likely to shape the way you coach someone else.
The deeper your awareness of your own patterns, the more present you can be with someone else’s.
Emma Sanderson
"I've loved every minute of this programme. It's changed my relationship with money and I know this will make a difference for my clients too"

Professionally
You move from relying on instinct to having a methodology you can trust.
As you learn and practise the framework, you’ll develop greater confidence in recognising what may be happening beneath a client’s financial behaviour and deciding where the conversation needs to go next.
You leave with more than knowledge.
You leave with a clearer method, stronger practitioner confidence and a more distinctive way of supporting client change.

Danielle Brophy
“The programme has given me more confidence to talk about our relationship to money, and a greater comfort in using the right language to articulate the emotional and psychological aspects of money.”

"This coaching programme completely changed my personal outlook on money, causing me to question many of the beliefs I have about money that drive my money choice. As well as this wonderful personal change it has opened up a wonderful new professional avenue. I've been able to transform my clients' relationships with money, helping them feel empowered to make the right financial choices for themselves and their families. Catherine and the Money Panel team are amazing to work and train with and attract and amazing group of individuals who are passionate about changing the way we talk, learn and behave with money."

THE PROGRAMME AT A GLANCE
From understanding the money story to creating change that lasts.
The programme takes you through five connected phases of financial coaching, beginning with the roots of a client’s relationship with money and progressing towards the practical application of the methodology in real conversations. Each phase builds on the one before it, so you’re not simply collecting tools.
You’re learning when, why and how to use them.

ROOTS → RELEASE → REFRAME → REWIRE → REAL-WORLD
The five-part learning journey:
Ground yourself and uncover the patterns
Understand how money beliefs are formed through personal experience, family inheritance and cultural conditioning and how the nervous system can influence financial decisions before logic catches up.
You’ll begin with your own relationship with money, then learn to recognise the beliefs and patterns showing up in your clients’ language and behaviour.
You’ll learn to:
- recognise the deeper beliefs shaping financial behaviour
- understand how stress and emotional activation can affect money decisions
- listen to client language as valuable coaching information
- use the Money StoryTypes® to understand and support different client patterns
- create a coaching environment grounded in safety and trust
Key tools include: Money StoryTypes® Assessment & Quick Reference Cards, Borrowed Beliefs Timeline, Emotional Regulation tools, Money Phrases Cheat Sheet and coaching demonstrations.
Understand what’s keeping the pattern in place
Learn to work with the emotional responses, resistance and protective behaviours that can keep a client stuck, even when they consciously want something to change.
Rather than treating resistance as a problem to overcome, you’ll learn to explore what it may be protecting and help clients develop greater awareness of what’s happening beneath the surface.
You’ll learn to:
- recognise resistance and ambivalence without pushing for change
- explore the emotional drivers beneath financial behaviour
- understand what an apparently unhelpful pattern may be protecting
- work with emotional activation while maintaining safety and appropriate boundaries
- help clients create enough awareness and space for a different response to become possible
Key tools include: practical coaching questions and exercises for exploring resistance, emotional responses and the protective function of money behaviours.
Help clients see the story differently
Once a client can recognise the belief or narrative influencing their financial behaviour, the next step isn’t simply to replace it with a more “positive” thought.
You’ll learn how to help clients examine the meaning they’ve attached to money, question beliefs that may no longer serve them and develop perspectives that feel both more supportive and believable.
You’ll learn to:
- identify the beliefs and narratives influencing a client’s financial choices
- explore where those beliefs came from and whether they still fit
- help clients question assumptions without imposing your own perspective
- support clients to develop alternative beliefs that feel credible and personally meaningful
- connect a new perspective with different choices and possibilities
Key tools include: practical coaching questions and exercises for exploring, challenging and reframing money beliefs and narratives.
Turn new insight into new responses
Understanding a money pattern is important. But lasting change also requires opportunities to respond differently when the old pattern is activated.
You’ll learn how to help clients move from insight towards new emotional and behavioural responses, creating practical ways to reinforce change beyond the coaching conversation.
You’ll learn to:
- recognise when an old money pattern is being activated
- help clients create space between the trigger and their habitual response
- support new responses that feel realistic and achievable
- connect emotional insight with practical financial behaviour
- help clients reinforce change through repetition, reflection and action
Key tools include: practical exercises and coaching techniques for supporting new responses, reinforcing change and translating insight into everyday financial behaviour.
Integration, application, and client practice
Knowing the framework is one thing. Using it confidently when a real client is sitting in front of you is another.
This phase brings the methodology together so you can practise applying what you’ve learned to the complexity of real money conversations, while maintaining clear professional and ethical boundaries.
You’ll learn to:
- bring the different stages of the methodology together within a coaching conversation
- recognise where a client may be within the process and decide where to go next
- adapt your approach to the person in front of you rather than rigidly following a script
- integrate financial coaching appropriately into your existing professional role
- recognise the limits of your scope and when referral or another form of support may be appropriate
- build greater confidence through practice, reflection and integration
The outcome: a methodology you understand not just in theory, but can begin applying with greater structure, confidence and professional awareness in real client conversations.

Wilma Edwards
Financial Adviser
“Since using financial coaching with my client I made £9,000. Today I used the Coaching Tools in my regular client meeting. I told the client to write down on the borrowed beliefs timeline, what are the stories that she is telling herself around money. It was soooooo powerful. I could see the lightbulb moments, her coming up with ideas of how to give less and hold onto more. Thank you once again for creating this course!!”
Learn the methodology — with somewhere to bring your questions.
The core learning is released across three months, so you have time to absorb, practice and integrate what you’re learning around your existing commitments.
Alongside the curriculum, you’ll join Catherine for seven 90-minute live Q&A and integration calls.
These sessions give you space to move beyond “I understand the concept” towards “I know how I might use this in practice.”
Bring your questions, reflections and real-world scenarios.
During the calls, you can:
- ask questions about the curriculum and methodology
- explore how the framework could apply in different client situations
- reflect on scenarios and coaching challenges
- deepen your understanding of the tools
- build confidence as you begin integrating what you’re learning

Certified Financial Coach, Australia
In an industry where the vast majority of financial coaches have their own business, it can be challenging to get feedback or evaluate your own sessions, especially when they aren't recorded. Watching how Catherine holds herself, how she holds the client, the space, the questions, and being able to practise and receive feedback, has been exactly what I've needed.

Sarah Roughsedge
Financial Coach
“The content has been fascinating, educational, engaging and practical. This is a powerful program which will change people’s lives and I am so pleased that I embarked on this journey.”

Michael hawthorne
The course took me down many rabbit holes of self discovery that I wasn't expecting. These centred around the need to compensate for this with knowledge and qualifications and make an all-in attempt to fit in and to be taken seriously by clients and peers alike. These became unconscious truths and choices that I created, which compounded over the years. Today, I feel more able to be myself. This has helped me in every part of my life.

Sara Walker
Money Mentor
“Working on the course and using the Money Narrative Clearing Method® Framework, I identified a major money block for myself. I was not charging enough which made me re-think my entire services and fees.”

"I was really excited when Catherine introduced Penny.
Whenever I got stuck or wanted to understand something more deeply, I could ask Penny rather than searching through the training. It genuinely felt like having Catherine there with me, helping me work things through.
Being able to ask questions and get guidance based on the curriculum has really helped build my confidence. Penny also makes valuable suggestions for questions I might not have thought to ask my clients.
Thank you, Catherine, for creating such a rich course, and for introducing Penny. She's been an invaluable part of my learning."

Charlotte Dover
ADHD Coach
“I loved this programme SO much. The best thing was that you made it accessible to my ADHD brain too, so I could complete it. You created such a brilliant opportunity to complete the practical side in a safe, nurturing environment.”

Suzanne Alexander, Certified Financial Coach, Australia
If you are weighing this up, I'd say this is the one-stop shop. I've done other programmes I loved, but the depth of tools to actually deliver the coaching, not just understand the concepts, is next level.

The Difference In Practice
What changes when you have a framework to work with.

Tanya Ibberson
Accountant
“I would spend a lot of time talking to my client about their goals but as an accountant we are not trained in helping clients with the feelings around money. I had no tools to understand feelings around money. I also wanted to add another string to my bow. I also recognised that I had my own limitations, so I knew it would help me too. There is lots of stigma in the financial space that we have to be good with money! It has given me such confidence in my work.

Isha Bhatt
Operations Director
Before joining the course, my biggest hesitation was whether it would be too ‘fluffy’ and not give me practical tools I could actually use with clients.
What surprised me was how quickly that concern disappeared. As I moved through the modules and reflected on my own behaviours around money, I had a real breakthrough — I could clearly see how powerful this work would be to facilitate with clients.
This training has genuinely shifted how I work. Instead of jumping into solution mode, I now feel confident staying in coaching mode, asking better questions, and getting to the true root of what’s really going on for clients. It’s added depth, confidence, and real impact to my client conversations.

SaM HARLEY
Meet Catherine
(Your Trainer)
I’ve dedicated my entire career to understanding money, both the numbers and the human experience behind them.
I’m a qualified Financial Adviser, Certified Financial Coach, Financial Abuse Specialist®, Inherited Family Trauma Practitioner, EFT Practitioner and Trauma of Money Method® Facilitator, alongside training in several other money-healing modalities.
But across all of that training and experience, one question has continued to shape my work:
Why can someone know exactly what to do with money and still find it incredibly difficult to do it?
I’ve seen the gap from both sides.
The financial world can give people excellent information, recommendations and strategy. Coaching can create powerful insight and awareness.
But when fear, shame, identity, inherited beliefs or protective patterns enter a money conversation, professionals need more than good intentions or another set of questions.
They need a structured way to know what to listen for, what to explore and where to go next.
That gap is what led me to develop the Money Narratives Clearing® Framework and the Financial Coach Programme.
My aim isn’t to teach you to coach exactly like me.
It’s to bring together what I’ve learned across financial services, financial coaching and deeper money work — and give you a practical methodology you can learn, practise and make your own.
Because when money becomes emotional, the answer isn’t always more information. Sometimes the most useful thing you can offer is a better conversation.
